On page 404: Revolutionary War Soldiers Buried in Evergreen Cemetery. Benjamin FARMER - born 24 July 1746 - died 19 November 1840. Wives: Sarah EMERSON, Bathsheba HASKINS. Pension Number S10648 - he served from Massachusetts. 1 From the Gazetteer and Business Directory of Rutland County, VT for 1881-1882 by Hamilton Child: Benjamin Farmer, Jr. came to Rutland previous to the Revolution, and bought a tract of land on road31, near the Mendon line. He aftrwards built in Mendon upon the same far, and was later the first Representative from that town. Benjamin, Sen., settled near his son, being a the time 80 years of age. He died there at the age of 90. Benjamin, Jr., died at the age of 98, ans was buried in the family burying-ground, near where Eli Farmer now resides, on road 26. Eli, a grandson of Benjamin, is now a hale, hearty old gentleman of 83.
