Biography

William Farmer was born on April 6, 1809, in Virginia. He was the son of John and Sarah (Wyatt) Farmer.

William was married three times. He married Sarah Fincher on March 17, 1831 in Miami County, Ohio. They were farmers and had one daughter during their marriage. After Sarah died, he married Martha Jane Bentley (widow of Charles Woodling) on November 11, 1855, in Green County, Wisconsin. He helped raise Martha's children from her previous marriage. After Martha died, he married Elizabeth Richards on January 18, 1872 in Green County.

William died on April 29, 1890, in Green County, Wisconsin, having lived a long life of 81 years, and was buried in Brodhead, Wisconsin.
