William was born about 1790. He passed away about 1860.
THE FARNSWORTH FAMILY
William Farnsworth (b. 1790 - d. 1860) became an engage of the American Fur Trade Company at Mackinac, around 1818. He established a fur trading post on the Menominee River and also built a sawmill with a partner, Charles Brush. His neighbor on the river was Jean Baptist Jacobs, who was living with Marinette Chevalier and had three children. Marinette left Jacobs for Farnsworth ; they also had three children before Marinette departed : Joseph (b.1824), George (b. 1827), and Jane (b. 1834).
