Biography

Olive Edna Farnsworth was born on 16 Jun 1840 in East Smithfield, Bradford Co, PA.[1]. She was the daughter of David Farnsworth (1800-1882) and Philena Atwood (Haven) Farnsworth (1817-1902).

1850 US Census:[2] Edna was listed as 10yo and born in PA. She was living in Smithfield Twp, Bradford Co, PA with her parents (both born in VT) and three siblings (all born in PA).

1860 US Census:[3] Edna was listed as 20yo and born in PA. She was living with her parents (both born in VT) and four younger siblings (all born in PA) in Smithfield Twp, Bradford Co, PA.

Olive married John Theodore Reineck (1841-abt.1884), reportedly in 1870 in East Smithfield, Bradford, Pennsylvania, USA (source needed). They went on to have the following children:

1870 US Census:[4] John is listed as 28, born in PA, working as an agent for Lefight Coal Co, with a personal estate value of $400. Olive F is listed as 29 and born in PA.

1880 US Census:[5] John is listed as a 38yo coal dealer, born in PA. His household in New Brunswick, Middlesex County, NJ includes his wife Olive (39; PA), son Edward (9; NJ), daughter Lilian (6; NJ), daughter Edna (1; NJ), sister-in-law Ella Farnsworth (29; PA), and unknown (staff?) Serah Sharrot (22; NY). Olive's parents are listed as born in Vermont.

Her husband died in 1883 or 1884, leaving Olive with four young children. She did not remarry.

1900 US Census:[6] Olive was listed as a 60yo widow, born in PA in Jun 1840. She was living in New Brunswick, Middlesex Co, NJ, with her three younger children, Lillian (26; NJ), Edna (22; NJ), and Robert (19; NJ). Her parents were shown as born in VT.

1910 US Census:[7] Olive had moved to Indianapolis IN to live with her daughter Lillian Hevenor (35; NJ) and her family. Olive was listed as 69 and born in PA. The family moved shortly afterwards to Oak Park, Cook Co, IL.

Olive died in Oak Park, Cook Co, IL on 25 Nov 1915 at age 75.5.[8] She is buried with her husband in Elmwood Cemetery in New Brunswick, NJ.[1]
