Samuel Farnsworth, son of Adonijah Farnsworth and Hannah (maiden name unknown), was born on 27 June 1766 in Loudoun county, Virginia. [1]

Samuel wed Marguerite French about 1784 in Virginia. To this marriage are ascribed the following children: [2]

  1. Samuel Farnsworth, born abt 1787 in Loudoun County, Virginia;
  2. Henry Farnsworth, b. abt 1788 in Loudoun County, Virginia, died abt 1855 in Independence Township, Washington County, Ohio;
  3. Mary Farnsworth, b. abt 1789 in Loudoun County, Virginia;
  4. James Farnsworth, 1790–1837;
  5. Ruth Farnsworth.

According to Find A Grave, Samuel Farnsworth married secondly Elizabeth Johnston, born in 1778. Samuel and Elizabeth had at least one daughter: Martha (Farnsworth) Peterson. [3]

Samuel Farnsworth died on 24 September 1842 in Belmont county, Ohio, [4] or on 27 July 1842, and was buried at Farmington Cemetery, Barton, Belmont county, Ohio. [5]
