Mary Anna Farnsworth was born in January of 1853 in New York according to census records and her death certificate. On her death certificate her father is listed as Thomas Farnsworth. With that being stated, Mary Anna is listed on the New York State Census of 1855,^[1] the 1860 Census in New York,^[2] and the 1870 Census in Fairfax, Virginia^[3] in the home of Samuel and Catherine Farnsworth. Perhaps her father's full name was Samuel Thomas or a variation thereof?

MAXWELL, MARY ANNA. On Wednesday, January 6, 1932, at 10 a.m., MARY A. MAXWELL, aged 78 years, beloved wife of the late Martin V. Maxwell. She is survived by her grandson, Guy L. McKinney: two great-grandchildren, Edith D. and Virginia Lee McKinney. Funeral services at the Southern Methodist Church, Merrifield, Va., on Friday, January 8, at 2 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Interment Merrifield Cemetery, Merrifield, Va.^[9]
