ISAAC FARNUM, b. at Andover, 19 Dec 1742[1] son of John and Sarah (Frye) Farnum; d. at Andover, 8 Sep 1823; m. by 1771, MARY OSGOOD, b. at Andover, 30 Sep 1753 daughter of John and Martha (Carleton) Osgood;[2] Mary d. at Andover, 22 May 1820.[3]
Isaac Farnum was a farmer in Andover. In his will written 5 September 1823 (probate 30 September 1823), Isaac Farnum bequeathed to daughter Sally wife of Timothy Osgood, Esquire, one dollar which completes her full portion. Daughter Susannah wife of Doctor Daniel Berry also receives one dollar. Daughters Mary and Martha receive the north part of the dwelling house from the cellar to the garret, the garden, and a piece of land before the barn. They are to have space in the barn to keep a horse and two cows. Mary and Martha are to have the pew in the meeting house. Daughter Charlotte wife of Henry P. Oxnard receives one dollar. The residue of the estate goes to son Isaac Farnum who is named executor.[4]
Isaac Farnum and Mary Osgood were parents of eight children born at Andover.

ii ISAAC FARNUM, b. 3 Mar 1773; d. at Andover, 16 Mar 1839; m. at Andover, 11 Jan 1798, his fourth cousin, PERSIS STEVENS, b. at Andover, 1 Dec 1773 daughter of Daniel and Susanna (Abbott) Stevens; Persis d. at Andover, 20 Jul 1853.
iii MARY FARNHAM, b. 24 Feb 1775; d. at Andover, 25 Jun 1836. Mary did not marry.
iv MARTHA FARNUM, b. 12 Mar 1779; d. at Andover, 11 Apr 1869; Martha did not marry. In her will written 28 October 1865, Martha made bequests to her sister Charlotte Oxnard, Horace Berry of Philadelphia, Dorcas Freeman, Susan Osgood and sisters, Isaac Farnham of Groton, Sarah Maria Farnham the daughter of Isaac, Mary A. Rugg, Susan Woods, Louisa Hamilton, Adeline Berry, a daughter of Charles Berry. Personal estate was $5,500, all money in a trust through Massachusetts Hospital Life Insurance Company.[5]
