Biography

Charles was born in 1872. He was the son of Alexander Farquhar and Jane Dougal.

Charles carried on the old family home at “Bannockburn,” and followed farming all his life.

He passed away in 1926.

Funeral Notice. FARQUHAR - The funeral or the late Charles Farquhar is appointed to leave the Memorial Hospital, Scottsdale, at 3 p.m. Monday (this day), for Ellesmere Cemetery. L. E. FRENCH, Funeral Director. Examiner (Launceston, Tas. : 1900 - 1954), Mon 5 Jul 1926.

Obituary
The death on Sunday of Mr. Charles Farquhar, at the age of 54 years, removes a well-known and highly esteemed resident of the district. An attack of influenza was followed by pneumonia, with the result that on Saturday it was deemed advisable to remove Mr. Farquhar to the Hospital. His condition was then critical, and he gradually sank and died next morning. The deceased was a son of the late Alexander Farquhar, one of the earliest pioneers, and was born in Scottsdale, where he has resided all his life, chiefly engaging in farming pursuits. He married the second daughter of the late John McKerrow, and leaves a widow and one daughter. His brothers are Mr. Albert and Thomas, Scottsdale, and Mr. John Farquhar of the Osmiridium fields. The interment took place yesterday afternoon at the Ellesmere cemetery
