In 1900, Ernest Anderson and Carrie Pullman living nearby at 817 6th St SW and 604 H St SW respectively, moved in to the house with his Aunt Henrietta (Barbara's sister) and his sister Emma Kate at 1334 Union St. SW. Mary had to give up her room and take Ernest's old room at the Anderson household (her grandparents)[2] although we see her being counted at her parents house as well.[3]
Next door lived Andrew Archer and his wife Ellen. Ellen died in 1905 and Mary married the 74 year old man who was 48 years her senior on 5 Feb 1907[8][9]. By 1910, she has moved out of Ernest's old room leaving it to her sister Katie and moved next door (815 6th St SW) with her new husband and young son.[4]
Shortly after her husband died on 11 Nov 1911, her parents and siblings moved into the house. Mary continued to live there at least through 1913. She married a physician, Frederick Yates, in 1917.[6] Perhaps she moved out then but certainly by 1918 she was living at Ashmead St in D.C. She had four more children with her new husband.
Mary passed away 14 Jul 1942 in Washington, D.C.[10] and is buried at Glenwood Cemetery[11]
