Biography

Stephen Farr son of Stephen Farr, Sr. and Sarah Bennett. He was born 01 June 1739, and died 10 June 1822 in Fort Ann, New York, died age 83. He married Lois Randall on 01 March 1764 in Acton, Massachusetts.

He moved to Jefferson County, New York. Then to Essex County New York 1803. He was in Cummington Massachussetts where he was one of the first settlers and where he had massive land holdings. Here he was one of the original members of the church organized July 7, 1779.

He fought in the Revolutionary war.

Lived in Stowe, Bolton, Commington, Shutesbury, Massachusetts. He lived in Kingston, Ontario, Canada for a while and was employed in Custom House matters.

The births of eleven children of Stephen and Lois (Randall) Farr were entered into the town records of Panton, VT on 3 April 1797 {Book 3, p. 217, on Family History Library microfilm #0028660} It is unlikely however that any of the children were actually born in Panton, VT since Stephen Farr seems to have been at Panton only for a years.

He was at Kingsbury, Washington County, NY for the 1790 census, and Westfield (now Fort Ann), Washington County, NY for the 1800 census. He was counted in a census 6 in 1820 in Schroon, Essex, New York, United States.

This person was created on 23 September 2010 through the import of thamer-1_2010-09-23.ged.

Farr-28 and Farr-2046 appear to represent the same person because: Same dates and relationships. They currently appear as brothers. The correct suffix is IV as he is the son of Stephen Farr III.
