Henry was born in about 1669. He was the son of John Farr of Sanwich(Swanage) and his wife Theophila[unknown surname][1] It is not known where he was born, he does not appear in the Swanage baptism although older siblings were baptised there. His year of birth was determined by his age mentioned on a copyhold lease in May 1673[2]
Henry, a clothier in Sturminster Newton married Jane Stevens, the daughter of Robert Stevens also a clothier[3]
The couple had the following children.
John, possible baptism 21 Sept 1697, Sturminster Newton [4]
Robert born June 21, 1698 baptised 12 May 1699, Sturminster Newton [5]
William born June 1699 and baptized May 30 1700 buried 2nd June 1700 [6]
Jane died in March 1707/8 and was buried in Sturminster Newton[10]
Henry remarried. His second wife was Annever Brickle, daughter of John Brickell (1633-1712) The date of Elizabeth's death and Henry's remarriage is as yet unknown [11] There appear to have been no surviving children of this marriage.
Henry died and was buried in Sturminster Newton on 30 November 1723[12]
He wrote a will on 30 October, whilst ill. He made the following bequests
twenty shillings for twenty years to give bread to the poor in Swanwich(Swanage)
To daughter Theophila £400 as an addition to her existing portion. A half share in all the linnen, pewter and silver spoons in her father's house in Sturminster
To daughter Anna £400 within a month and £600 for her portion (if she died before marriage or age of 21 then to revert to her sister Theophila and her brother John)

To his wife (unamed) copyhold estate in Swanwick for her life. The parlor, palor chamber and garret over it and the use of the goods in those chambers and the use of tubs, trendles and furnace when needed together with a quarter of the garden and orchard in the dwelling house in Sturmnister. He also gave her 'all the goods she had before her marriage' and twenty shillings
