Biography
Appointed as Oregon Territorial District Attorney in 1853 by President Franklin Pierce, and served from 1853–1859.[1]
Elected mayor of Portland, Oregon in 1862: "At the beginning of Farrar's term, he told council he had to take a three-month leave for his business. Then he was never seen in Portland again."[2]
