Biography
Ephraim Hartwell Farrar was born in New Ipswich, New Hampshire on Dec 8, 1783. He is the son of Stephen Farrar and Eunice Brown. [1]
Ephraim married Phebe Parker in 1826. She was the widow of Jonas C. Champney. [2] Ephraim Farrar and Phebe (Parker) Champney were married in Middlebury, Vermont on Aug 27, 1827. [3]
In early manhood Ephraim went to Boston, Massachusetts where he taught for nearly twenty years, returning to New Ipswich, New Hampshire a year or two before his marriage and living in the house where his parents had lived in their last years. [2]
Ephraim held the office of town clerk for fourteen years and was a trustee of the Academy until his death. One child is listed. [2]
He died on Jan 8, 1851 in New Ipswich, New Hampshire [4] and is buried in New Ipswich at Central Cemetery. [5]
