Biography

Thomas was born in 1839, in Fluvanna, Virginia. He was the son of Garland Farrar and Mary Ann Lilly Shepherd.

On April 8, 1862, he enlisted as a Private in Company G, 47th Regiment, Virginia Infantry. Within a month he was sick and in the hospital in Richmond. On December 13, 1862, he was wounded in action, receiving a flesh wound to his upper right arm. He was sent on furlough to heal and believed he was discharged at this time.

On 28 Nov 1867, he married Maria Louise Megginson. They had one known child.

Thomas died on 18 Dec 1868, of consumption, before his son was born. His brother Matthew had died of this just two months prior. He is buried at the Farrar Family Cemetery.

Farrar-3701 and Farrar-2181 appear to represent the same person because: See Garland Farrar. He only had one son Thomas. Both of these profiles are the same person.
