Biography

Victor Glen was born on 27 Oct 1887 in Irwin, Shelby, Iowa. He was the son of Lincoln Farrell and Ella Sharp.^[1]He was the 1st of 8 children (Victor Glen, Clyde L., Harry, Merle, Homer Hobert, Vera Edna, Doris Faye, Raymond).

Victor Glen preferred to be called Glen.^[2]

On 30 Jul 1907 he married Lillian "Lillie" Iva Darr in Carroll, Iowa.^[3]They were the parents of three children:

1. Lois Darlene, born 26 May 1910 Carroll, died 6 May 1993 Rogers, Hennepin, Minnesota
2. Leland Darr, born 22 Feb 1913 Carroll, died 30 Jan 1991 Council Bluffs, Pottawattamie, Iowa
3. Delbert Dwayne, born 13 Mar 1919 Carroll, died 3 Jan 2015 Carroll

Glen was employed by the Chicago and Northwestern Railway for a time; then in the restaurant business here and in Council Bluffs, later resuming work for the Railway as express messenger until his retirement. He and Lillian left Carroll about 20 years before his death.^[4]

In May 1954, Glen and Lillian travelled to California for a reunion of the five living Farrell brothers and their wives (brother Merle passed away in 1941).^[5]

Glen passed away on 13 Nov 1961 in the Jennie Edmundson Hospital in Council Bluffs, Iowa after a long illness.^[2][4][6] He was buried with Lillian in the Carroll City Cemetery.^[7]
