Marie Valborg FARRELL was born on 29 January 1886 in Jerilderie, Colony of New South Wales[1]. She was the daughter of Samuel FARRELL and Julia Valborg BORSUM.

The marriage of Mr. Eric Gordon Mayoh, eldest son of Mr. Arthur Mayoh, of Sydney and London, and Miss Marie Valborg Farrell, only daughter of Mr. Samuel Farrell, Inspector of the Bank of Australasia, was celebrated at St. Peter's Church, Neutral Bay, on 11th April. The Rev. J. H. Chaseling performed the ceremony. The church was decorated by the friends of the bride with pink and white flowers. Dr. Gardiner was at the organ, and a solo was sung by Miss Punch. The bride, who was given away by her father, was gowned in white crepe-de-chine, lined with pale pink and trimmed with point de gore lace and pearls, caught with sprays of white heather. The long train, was set with a bow of tulle, and a wreath of orange blossom, myrtle, and heather. Her veil was becomingly arranged over a pearl Juliet cap. A beautiful Searl and Sons bouquet of roses was carried. The bridesmaids were Miss Maisie Broughton and Miss G?ssie MacLeod. Little Marjorie and Holly Ainsan carried white satin cushion worked with the initials of the bride and bridegroom. The elder maids were frocked in pink crepe-de-chine, and wore violet velvet hats, and carried bouquets of violets. The little girls wore white muslin dresses, lined with pink crepe-de-chine and trimmed with lace. They also wore violet velvet hats. The bridegroom's gifts were—To bride, diamond ring; to maids, coral and pearl earrings and ring; to children, gold bangles; to best man and groomsman, gold pencils; bride to bridegroom, gold wristlet watch. Mr. Karl Mayoh (brother of bridegroom) was best man, and Mr. Harry Rand? was groomsman. The bride's mother was gowned in a royal blue duvetyn, trimmed with shadow lace, finished with a floral belt, and vest trimmed with brown fur. A reception was held at Warringa Hall, during which songs were given by Miss M. Punch, Miss Amy Thomas, and Dr. Maguire. The bride and bridegroom left for Melbourne. The bride travelled in a Battier blue crepe-de-chine, trimmed with floral silk. Her white hat was set with a smart blue mount.
