Birth record spells last name as "Farington" with one r but is transcribed from another page that has not been found. Her parents' memorial stones are engraved "Farrington." Her brother Stephen's memorial stone is engraved "Farington," although his Find a Grave page indicates his name contains two Rs. Her nephews memorial stones are engraved with two Rs. [2][3]
Caution is need to avoid conflation of families with very similar names and only slightly different ages or there have been transcription errors in the records.
-A marriage record has been found for an Apia Farrington and Oliver Knight married on 26 Jan 1797 by the Pastor of the Church of Christ in Fryeburg where they are both residing. [4]
-A list of births and one death for the children of an "Aphia/Alphia" and Oliver Knight have been recorded in the Fryeburg town records. The names are extremely similar and follow the same birth order as the children atttached to this profile, but the birth dates are off by several years: Eunice Knight born 14 Apr 1797; Almira Knight born 29 Mar 1799; and Stephen Knight born 2 Aug 1801/2 and died 13 Dec 1803. This record does not include a second son named Stephen as is attached to the couple of this profile. (The list of the names for an Oliver Knight with a second wife named Patience continues just below on the same ledger page. As with Apphia's children, these names are very similar and the are in the same birth order as those attached to Oliver and Patience Knight. Only the two youngest attached to Oliver and Patience, Stephen and Sarah, have no matching children's names enumerated. The birth dates for these children are different from those attached to Oliver Knight's profile as well. [5]
Death record is required for Apphia.
