Biography

Coleman was born in 1832. He was the son of Coleman Farris and Elizabeth West. He passed away in 1905.

  • Enlisted 7-7-1862 at Rowan Co, NC. Private, age 25,farmer.
  • In hospital 9-10-1862 with remittent fever at Richmond,VA.
  • Wounded: fingers shot off of left hand 5-4-1863 at Chancellorsville, VA. In hospital 5-5-1863 at Richmond, VA.
  • Detailed as a provost guard 6-29-1863 at Raleigh, NC.

Enlisted on 7/7/1862 at Rowan County, NC as a Private.

On 7/17/1862 he mustered into "K" Co. NC 57th Infantry (date and method of discharge not given)
