James Alexander Farris, son of Lawrence A. Farris and Hazel (Hughes) Farris, was born on 24 March 1920 at West Frankfort, Illinois.[1][2] He appeared on the census of 2 April 1930 in the home of his parents at Jonesboro, Union, Illinois.[3]
He married Hazel Elizabeth Smith, daughter of Ernest Harry Smith and Eva Pearl (Cox) Smith, on 6 Dec. 1941 at Jackson, Cape Girardeau County, Missouri.[4]
He married Joan O. Hargis on 9 Jan. 1963 at Crawfordsville, Montgomery, Indiana.[5][2]
James died on 31 March 1983 in Alton, Madison County, Illinois and was buried at Short Cemetery, Cottage Hills, Madison County, Illinois.[2][6]
