Sarah Ann Brook was born in 1863 in Bradford, Yorkshire, England, United Kingdom. She was the daughter of single mother Ann Brook.[1] Her mother married Joseph Fawcett when she was about 3 years old. She used the name Fawcett for most of her life. It's possible she was officially adopted.
