Thomas was born in Clayton Le Woods, Lancashire, England, ~1818.
He can be seen, aged 33, living in the household of Christopher Hill and Martha Hill, with his wife Mary (Hill), their daughter Martha Harriet, and their son William (2). [1]
He married Mary Hill in September 1847, in Otley, Yorkshire. [2][3]
Thomas and Mary continued to live in Mary's parent's household. The 1861 Census shows that, at this time, they had five children, who were all born in the household in Arthington. [4]
The 1881 Census shows Thomas (66) and Mary (62) were resident in Headingley with Burley, Yorkshire. [5]
