Biography

Harriet Jane "Hattie" Fay, born 10 Oct 1835 at Rutland, Vermont ^[1] , was the fifth child of Benjamin Fay, the second husband of Harriet (Alvord) (Smith) Fay (1795-1844) ^[2].

She married 18 Aug 1859 at Autauga, Alabama, Stephen H. Pearce ^[3].

The 1880 census record of Prattville, Alabama, at which time Harriet was widowed and head of household, lists these children in residence ^[4]:

• Sallie L. Pearce (step-daughter), age 26
• Ella F. Pearce, age 19
• Edmund F. Pearce, age 18
• William W. Pearce, age 16
• Hattie A. Pearce, age 12

Hattie F. Pearce continued to reside in Prattville in 1910, along with her step-daughter and daughter Ella F. (Pearce) Booth and her family ^[5].

Harriet (Fay) Pearce passed away after 1910.
