Lyman Jonathan Fay was born on 15 Nov 1866, the son of Norman Hatch Fay and Sarah Ann (Vestal) Fay.[1] In 1870, he was living with his parents and siblings at Vernon, California, at the age of four, with his birthplace shown as California.[2] In 1880 he was living with his widowed father and siblings at El Monte, California, at the age of 13.[3]
Marriages
Lyman J. Fay, 21, of Yucapia, California, married Dora M. Van Leuven, 18, of San Jacinto, California, at San Bernadino, California, on 16 May 1888.[4] She was the sister-in-law of his sister Lee Etta Ann (Fay) Van Leuven. In 1900, Lyman J. Fay and Dora M. Fay were faming at Moreno, California, with an 11-year-old daughter, Alice M. Fay, born in May 1889.[5] Dora Fay died in 1916.[6]
Lyman J. Fay married Rosie Shrimp in Riverside County, California, on 1 Feb 1918.[7] In 1920, Lyman J. Fay, 63, and Rosie S. Fay, 53, were living at Riverside, California, and Lyman was working as a mechanic for an automobile company.[8] In 1940, Lyman J. Fay and Rosie S. Fay, both 74, were living at Riverside, and Lyman was employed as a truck driver for a creamer manufacturer.[9]
Death
Lyman J. Fay died in Riverside County, California, on 28 Jun 1944.[10] His gravestone at the Evergreen Memorial Park in Riverside, California, is inscribed with the dates 1866-1944.[6]
