Biography

Anne, aka Annie, Cecelia Cook was born in February 1888 in Waterford, New London, Connecticut. She was the daughter of Timothy and Mary (O'Conner) Feeley as recorded in Annie's marriage record. Anne's mother, Mary, is enumerated in the 1900 U.S. Federal Census as head of household and a widow, b. April 1851, and who immigrated in 1883 from Scotland where she and her parents were born. Also enumerated therein is Annie age 12 along with her three sisters including Mary M. age 17, Nellie T. age 15, and Saddie age 10. The birthplace of Annie's father, Timothy, was Ireland as noted in the 1920 Federal Census. Additional information on Anne's parentage is pending ongoing research.

Annie married Eugene Ambrose Cook on November 24, 1915 in Manhattan, New York (Marriage Certificate Number: 26244). They resided in New London, New London, CT. About 5 years later as per the 1920 Federal Census, the only member of their household was a "Boarder," who was a German Plumber named Albert Bonitz, age 43. Also of interest in the 1920 Fed. Census is the noted birth places of Eugene and Anne's parents. Eugene's mother and father are enumerated as both being born in Ireland; and while Anne's father was noted to have been born in Ireland, her mother was born in Scotland. In 1920 Census, Eugene is age 35 and Anne age 31.

In 1930, Eugene and Anne are noted in the Federal Census as having two children, a son named Arthur (age 9) and a daughter named Florence (age 7). They resided in New London, New London, Connecticut.

Annie died a widow at age 69 on April 2, 1957. She is buried at Saint Mary's Cemetery in New London.
