William was born in 1876 in England. He immigrated to Pennsylvania about 1891. He married 17 Jun 1901 to Mary Nanns. William worked in the coal mines, eventually becoming a labor union organizer for United Mine Workers of America. He passed away in 1939 and is buried in the Mount Calvary Cemetery in Coal Center, Washington County, Pennsylvania. [1]
