Immigration
Sailed from Liverpool, England with wife Ann and children Eliza Ann and Amos Alexander on the ship "Ellen" with Captain A. Phillips, on Wednesday 8 January 1857. The ship docked at the Port of New Orleans, Louisiana on 15 March 1857
List of all Passengers taken on board the Brit Ship "Ellen", whereof Phillips is the Master, at the Port of Liverpool and bound for New Orleans, date not cited. Manifest reads: Jno Fenn, age 75, male, occupation illegible; Ann Fenn, age 60, servant; Elizabeth Fenn, age 19, servant; Amos Fenn, age 16, occupation (possible) mechanic.
There is a possible discrepancy in the date of immigration. Ancestry transcribed date as 1857 but document originals were undated. Daughter Elizabeth, also a passenger, has been shown to be married to a William Wilford Allen in 1852 in Utah. Ancestry Tree ds10sne1 cites her marriage to William as 12 Dec 1852, Salt Lake City, Salt Lake, Utah but unfortunately isn't sourced.
