Lewis was born in 1780. He was the son of William Fenton and Sarah Armitage.[1] He was baptised at St Peter's, Huddersfield on 13 December 1780.[2]
He served as a captain in the 55th Regiment.[1]
He married Anne/Ann Hind, daughter of Edward Hind of Wavertree, Lancashire, at Childwall, Lancashire on 18 February 1817.[3]
He was Member of Parliament for Huddersfield from 1832 to 1833.[4][5]
Lewis was buried at Huddersfield, Yorkshire on 4 December 1833.[6]
