John was born 19th December 1887 at Poplar[1], Middlesex, England and baptised 15th January 1888 at St. John, Cubitt Town, Middlesex, England, the son of John Fenwick and Jane Micklewright[2].

John was admitted to Oban Street School, Poplar, Middlesex 13th April 1891[3]

Living with parents John & Jane FENWICK and siblings Thomas (19), William (10), Dorothy (6), Nellie (2), Alice (6 months) and uncle William MICKLEWIGHT (23).
