Biography

James Ferguson's birth year is a rough estimate. The names of his parents and location of his birth are also unknown. What is known is that he married Hannah Carr Aubin in Newburyport, Essex, Massachusetts Bay on December 16, 1774. They had two known children, daughters Hannah and Rebecca. The 1790 U.S. Federal Census record for Newburyport lists James Ferguson as "Head of Household" with three females, who are assumed to be his wife, Hannah, and his two daughters.
