Isaac was born about 1751, the son of Thomas Ferguson His family were early settlers on the Monongahela River, eighteen miles above Ft. Duquesne, the first lodgment west of the Alleghenies.
Isaac married Elizabeth Leedom.
Colonel Isaac Ferguson entered the Revolutionary War as a second lieutenant and come out a colonel. He served for four years before moving to KY in 1784. After the close of the Revolutionary war Isaac Ferguson moved with his family westward, and in 1784 located for a time at Limestone, Kentucky.
Elizabeth and Isaac had the following children:
Zachariah. Born on 16 Aug 1777 in Brownsville, Fayette Co., PA. Zachariah died in Liberty, Union Co., IN, on 5 Sep 1843; he was 66. On 12 Jan 1802 when Zachariah was 24, he married Mary (or Polly as per IGI) JOHNS, in Greene Co., OH.

Isaac. Born ca 1786 in Macon, Hart Co., KY. Isaac died in Fountain Co., IN, on 26 Apr 1844; he was 58. On 16 Feb 1816 when Isaac was 30, he first married Martha ARMSTRONG, in Clermont Co., OH. Born ca 1798 in OH. On 4 Sep 1831 when Isaac was 45, he second married Margaret RARDIN, in Fountain Co., IN.
Thomas. Born ca 1790 in Macon, Hart Co., KY. Thomas died in Fountain Co., IN, on 18 Oct 1894; he was 104. On 5 Jan 1832 when Thomas was 42, he married Margaret TOWNSLEY, in Fountain Co., IN.
Francis. Born in Macon, Hart Co., KY.
Sarah. Born in Macon, Hart Co., KY
Letitia. Born in Clermont Co., OH.
James (1798-1868) Born in Clermont Co., OH.
He lived in Clermont County Ohio until the end of his days.

Major Thomas Ferguson, his father, was a captain in the old French and Indian war, and at Braddock's defeat, July 9, 1756, had three bullet holes in his clothes, his powder horn shot to pieces and his hair badly singed and was also under Washington at the Great Meadows when attacked by the French and Indians.
