Private Moses Ferguson Sr. served with 1st South Carolina Regiment, Continental Army during the American Revolution.

Moses Ferguson Sr. is a DAR Patriot Ancestor, A039293.

Moses Ferguson was born in February, 1762, in Baltimore City, Baltimore county, Maryland. At the time of the American Revolutionary War, Robert was living in Tryon county, which included land of both modern day North and South Carolina. Moses enlisted as a Private in Captain Alexander's company, under the command of Colonel Wade Hampton. [1]

Moses Ferguson is honored for his military service by the Daughters of the American Revolution, as DAR Ancestor #A039293. DAR records indicate that he died after March 15, 1845, in Jackson Township, Johnson county, Missouri, and that his wife's name is Elizabeth Cox. Applications for membership in the Society of the DAR have been made by the descendants of his sons, Moses Ferguson, who married Rebecca Ann Simmerman; Samuel Ferguson, who married Sallie Moonie; John C. Ferguson, who married Sarah Falls; and William Ferguson, who married _______ Henry. [2]

Moses Ferguson is buried in the Blackwater Cemetery, in Holden, Johnson county, Missouri. There is a photograph of his headstone on Find A Grave, which shows his DAR marker. [3]
