It is told that William and Isabella were among those of Scots descent who lived in Northern Ireland for about a generation or so. They are often called "Scots-Irish" or "Scotch-Irish". They then came to the New World landing in Canada and trekked south having children along the way. They stopped in Pennsylvania long enough to have a child or two and receive U.S. citizenship then they were on the move again. They finally settled in West Virginia.
