Eve was born in 1857. Her birth record, obtained from the Louisiana State Archives, states that she was born in New Orleans, and her father was “a native of Spain.” Jean Fernandez appeared before Pierre Lacoste, the recorder of births and deaths for New Orleans, on 13 Jul 1858 to register the birth. She resided in New Orleans in 1870 in her father's household. [1]
A May 13, 1928 article in the Times-Picayune states that she sued her children asking the Orleans parish civil district court to compel them to support her. The article listed the children and their addresses: Mrs. Louise B. Thoms of Prytania St., Herbert, John, of North Rampart St., and Joseph, of Dauphine St. [2]
In 1930, she is living in the household of her son Albert P. Bollinger.
She passed away in 1944, and was buried at St. Vincent de Paul cemetery No. 1 on 17 August 1944 in New Orleans. [3]
