Biography

1944 Gunnar was born in Hälsingegatan 18, Stockholm, Matteus (AB). The actual birth was in Karolinska Sjukhuset, a hospital in Solna, very close to the parents' address.

1951 - 1954 attended the primary school 'Vasa förberedande elementarskola'

1954 - 1963 attended secondary school and Gymnasium 'Norra Real'. Baccalaureat May 1963.

1963 - 64 Military service in radiocommunications.

1964 - 68 studied at the Royal Institute of Technology, Electronics dept. which resulted in an MSEE.

1968 started working for Oltronix, Vällingby to develop digital voltmeters (DVM).

1970 moved with the company to Leek, Holland. In 1971 the DVM development was stopped and the personnel was made redundant.

1971-72 travelled with Land-Rover from Calais to France, Spain, Marocco, Algeria, Niger, Nigeria, Cameroun, CAR, Zaire, Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania.

1972 started working at CERN, Geneva, Switzerland on 1st May.

2009 retired from CERN on 31st Oct.

i stumbled across Carl Victor Fernqvist while I was chasing errors such as Jèarna for Järna. I have no idea why I decided to add the census data to Carl's profile. It does add a snapshot of his life including birth parish which is useful for further tree growth. I also use ArkiveDigital and like its images and features. The Swedish Project encourages SVAR now that it is free and has things that AD does not. For much of my work in the Åland Islands I must use AD.
