Biography of Gaetano FERRARA of 1788

Gaetano Ferrara was born about 1788. He was named after his grandfather Gaetano Ferrara who was born about 1725.

Gaetano Ferrara married Marina Miceli on July 7, 1861, and had at least ten children, 3 whom died in the Cholera Epidemic of 1837:

  • Matteo Ferrara, born 1804, who married Antonina Biondolillo on October 27, 1827 in Alia, Sicilia at the age of 23. Antonina is the daughter of Giochino Biondolillo and his wife Domenica Runfola.
  • Antonino Ferrara, born 1815, who passed away on September 11, 1837, at age 22, about five or six weeks after two other siblings died.
  • Liborio Salvadore Maria Ferrara, born 1818 who married Runfola on October 13, 1858 when he was 40 years old and his bride was 18. Calogera was born in Valledolmo in 1840 to Antonina Runfola and his wife Lucia Panepinto.
  • Giuseppe Ferrara, born 1821, who passed away in May 1830 at the age of 9 years old.
  • Pietro Ferrara, born 1822, who passed away August 1, 1837 at the age of 15 years, during the Cholera Epidemic. He may have been born in early 1822 or may have been a twin of Antonino Maria Ferrara below.
  • Antonino Maria Ferrara, born December 10, 1822 and baptized December 11, 1822 in Alia, Sicilia, when both parents were listed as 44 years old. This might not be their right ages.
  • Maria Anna Ferrara, born May 24, 1825, when her mother was listed as 36 years old, but was could be 46. Maria Anna married Francesco Paolo Pitruzzello on September 19, 1847 at the age of 22. Francesco Paolo is the son of Salvatore Pitruzzello and his wife Anna La Tona.
  • Maria Carolina Ferrara, born February 2, 1828.
  • Angela Ferrara, born 1829, who passed away August 8, 1837, only one week after her brother Pietro.
  • Giuseppe Vincenzo Ferrara, born June 18, 1833 who married Maria Grazia Russo on July 7, 1861

Gaetano Ferrara passed away March 3, 1834, at the age of 56 in Alia, Sicilia, leaving his wife a widow. Many years later, his son married Maria Grazia Russo on July 7, 1861 in Alia, Sicilia, and Gaetano is listed as deceased in the marriage records of his son.
