He is the son of Petrus Hendrik Ferreira and Catharina Maria van Staden^[2][1]

He passed away on 24 Oct 1820 (In Government Gazette vol 15:773 Saturday November 4 1820. Died Aged 47yr on 24th October at 10 o'clock, p.m. after an illness of 14 days which he bore with the patience and resignation of a true Christiaan, Mr. Igantius Martinus Ferreira, of Lange Kloof.
