Stillman Valley; born n Johnstown, Rock Co., Wos., April 20, 1847; married Harriet Sanburn, at Milton, Sep. 5, 1872; she was born in Union Village, Orange Co., Vt., Aug. 18, 1842; have two children: William S., born June 30, 1873, and Sarah L., June 7, 1876; Mr. F. while a student had studied with great earnestness in his profession for the ministery, until failing health induced him to seek the dry and bracing atmosphere of the western climate, where he remained three years, when he returned and became pastor of this people Jan. 1, 1876; he also officiates at New Milford, and is beloved by all who know him; his father, Wm. P. Ferris, was one of he earliest settlers in Wisconsin; also Levi Sanburn, father of Mrs. F., lsft Vermont and settled in Rock Co., Wis., in 1854.
