Ransford Avery Ferris was born about 1752.[1]. Ransford, son of Peter, was baptized at Stamford, Connecticut April 7, 1754.[2] There are several Peter Ferris' in the Stamford area, but it is uncertain at this time which one his father is.
Ransford Ferris married Elizabeth June at Stamford, Connecticut May 25, 1772 (she is shown as Elizabeth Jane in the source).[3]

Ransford Ferris served during the Revolutionary War as a Private in Capt Jesse Bell's Company and General Arnold's regiment of coast guards[1][6]
Ransford Ferris died January 2, 1824 at Stamford, Connecticut.[1] Another sources shows his death as being in 1821.[5]
