Biography

His mother Catherine Hanson died a week after his birth. At the age of 3 his father committed suicide. He was raised by his maternal grandmother. At the age of 21 he enrolled in the Untied states Army and reported to Camp Grant in Rockford Illinois.

Michael John Feyen died at Camp Grant. At Camp Grant, 1,400 died from the flu in a span of weeks. An additional 425 civilians died in Rockford and Winnebago County.
