The entry of Marjorie Fidler's baptism run so, "Edinburgh, 17th September 1734, there is registration for baptism de William Fidler, one of the Remembrancer's Clerks in the Court of Exchequer, and Jean Johnston, his spouse, a daughter named Marjorie. Witnesses insert are Mr. Alex, Moir, late Professor of Moral Philosophy in the Marischal College, Aberdeen: Mr. Gilbert Moir, merchant in Edinburgh; Mr. William Seton, Writer to the Signet; and John MacDougall, one of the Clerks of the Exchequer, The child was born the 16th inst, and baptized by the Rt, Rev. Bishop Robert Keith.
