Biography

Born

18 AUG 1944. Bastrop County, Texas. [1] Obit 11 JUN 2007. Note: James Howard Fiebrich, age 62, of Rockne, Texas, passed away on June 7, 2007, working in his pasture on his homeplace. Jimmy, as we all knew him, was born August 17, 1944, at the family farm in Rockne to Fred and Paula Goertz Fiebrich. One of three sons, he grew up in Rockne and graduated from Rockne High School in 1962. Jimmy moved to Austin where he met and fell in love with his wife, Isabel. The two met on a double-date where they were both with someone else, but the opportunistic Jim got the phone number of the other guy's date, Isabel. The two were married in Corn Hill, Texas, where Isabel's family was from and moved to Austin to raise their family. Jimmy worked at Capital National Bank and Jim and Isabel raised three sons working very hard to put all three through college, an opportunity he himself never had. Michael and Stephen went to The University of Texas at Austin and Richard to Texas State University in San Marcos. After the passing of his mother, Paula Fiebrich, Jim, Isabel and young Richie moved back to the family homestead in Rockne. He soon built his dream home not far from the original farmhouse where he was born and he raised exotic gamebirds and Texas Longhorn cattle. Anyone who lives near Rockne knows where his beautiful property is and many people slow down over the years to gaze at his longhorns or to avoid hitting a peacock crossing the road. Aside from caring meticulously about his place, his family, and his livestock, Jimmy was also currently employed as a Bank Officer at First National Bank in Bastrop. Our father's legacy is the gorgeous land he worked so hard to keep beautiful, his incredible love and affection he held for his wife Isabel, and the swelling pride in which he showered his three sons. Jimmy was preceded in death by his oldest brother Fred Fiebrich Jr. and his wife Burnell Fiebrich, his nephew Howard Fiebrich, his parents Fred Fiebrich Sr., Paula Fiebrich, and his step-father Emmett Hendrix. He is survived by his wife, Isabel Fiebrich; his three sons, Michael Fiebrich and his partner David Hoss of Singapore, Dr. Stephen Fiebrich and his wife Georgia Fiebrich of Alexandra, VA, and Richard Fiebrich of San Marcos; as well as his brother, David Fiebrich and his wife Elberta of Bastrop. Stephen and Georgia gave him two beautiful grandchildren, Skylar and Sebastian Fiebrich. Pallbearers will be Arthur Goertz, Blackie Wallace, Darren Goertz, Ernest Bartsch, Jeffrey Meuth and Glenn Kadura. Honorary pallbearer Justin Creighton. A Rosary Service will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Rockne on Monday, June 11, 2007, at 7:30 p.m., and the Funeral Mass will be held at the same venue at 10:00 a.m., June 12, 2007.
