Biography

GRENFELL (1926, July 23). The Forbes Advocate (NSW : 1911 - 1954), , p. 9 The Rev. Mills (C. of E.) celebrated the marriage at Carcoar recently, of Miss Mary Ann Field, of "Iandra," Grenfell, and Mr. Roy Furner, of Carcoar

OBITUARY (1942, April 24). The Carcoar Chronicle (NSW : 1878 - 1943), p. 4. Retrieved June 3, 2016, OBITUARY Mrs. Roy Furner The death occurred at Carcoar Hospital of Annie, wife of Mr. Roy Furner, of that township. The end came with tragic suddenness and was a great shock to the deceased's relatives and many friends. On the Saturday Mrs. Furner was apparently in good health, but she was taken to the Hospital that night suffering from an acute attack of appendicitis. An operation was performed next day, and the patient was apparently doing well, but complications developed on the Wednesday and the end came very quickly. The sympathy felt for the bereaved husband and family was reflected by the presence of a large assemblage of mourners and friends at the funeral. The body was first taken to the Church of England, where a short service was conducted, after which interment was made in the Anglican portion of Carcoar cemetery. Rev. A. Mills, of South Bathurst, officiated at both services, and the obsequies were carried out by Cam Reed and Son. The late Mrs. Furner was 36 years of age and was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Field, of Greenethorpe. She leaves a husband and family of six young children, Charlie, Tom, Leslie, May, Nola and Ronald. Her two brothers are Constable Field (Bathurst) and Thomas Field (Greenethorpe), and three sisters, Mrs. Brown (Greenethorpe), Mrs. Harcombe (Newcastle) and Mrs. Muntz (Bathurst).
