It is believed, Mary, wife of John Lewis, was Mary Fields, The marriage itself may have been in the lost records of Charles City Co Virginia, which gave birth to Prince George Co vA in 1703 and there I find John and Mary Lewis having their first known child, a daughter, in 1705. It is now known when she died or when she was born. She may be the daughter of John Fields- died in Elizabeth Cittie Co in 1755. There was a Bible, now lost, in the Joel Lewis family, that stated Theophilus Fields, Sr. (1700-1775), merchant at Petersburg, who is buried there beneath the floor in old Blandford Church; Thomas Fields who moved up to the Louden area; Robert Fields who lived below here, in Guilford County, in the Polecat Creek settlement; and Nathaniel Fields (who, with his wife, Mary) lived here. Their home plantation, on the south edge of present Stoneville, bordered their nephew, William Langston Lewis. It was last located in Stokes Co NC but its whereabouts is unknown to me now.
