The given name of John's wife was certainly Mary, as shown in the wills of John Wheatleigh and Mary Wheatleigh.[1]
There is no evidence for the maiden name of Mary Wheatleigh - she is noted on many online databases as the daughter of [[Fiennes-99|Sir Thomas Fiennes (died 26 October 1528)] and Jane Sutton, daughter of Edward Sutton, 2nd Baron Dudley, and Cicely Willoughby. They had two children, Thomas Fiennes, 9th Baron Dacre and a daughter Anne who married John Mantell. The 9th Baron and his brother-in-law Mantell were hanged for the murder of John Busbridge in 1541. [2][3]
Finally, I noticed reference to a tenement/manor named "Tingsboro" in his will, which I cannot find in Somerset. The family history implies it was in Frome.

The book entitled "Genealogy of the Wheatley or Wheatleigh family. A history of the family in England and America ... Compiled by Hannibal P. Wheatley.
Published/Created
[Farmington, N.H. : E.H. Thomas, 1902" states that Frank Wheatley married the granddaughter of Thomas Fiennes. It does not state who the actual father and mother of "Mary" was. Apparently, the author of the genealogy did say HE HAD A RECORD, WRITTEN IN A FAMILY RECORD, which said Mary was the granddaughter of Thomas Fiennes.
