Andrew was born in 1835. He is the son of Adam Fife and Ellen Sharp.
Andrew was christened on July 19th, 1835[1]. The record shows a birth date of Jul 3rd.
Andrew doesn't appear in the 1841 Scotland Census, on the ship's manifest for the Berlin, the 1850 United State Census or any other document currently found, as of Oct 2021, except the above mentioned christening record and in LDS pioneer[2] documents related to the Fife family's travel from Great Britain to the Salt Lake Valley.
In the book Pioneers and Prominent Men of Utah, Andrew is mentioned in the bio[3] for his father, Adam Fife (1806-abt.1861). It simply provides his DOB and mentions that Andrew and brother Robert were deceased, no further info is provided.
The conclusion is that Andrew and Robert died young, before 1841, and were simply remembered by the family when the LDS church documented their travels with the Wilkin Freight Train. There is no independent evidence that either were alive at the time of the migration or ever lived in Utah.
Departed on the ship Berlin leaving Liverpool on 5 Sep 1849 and arrived in New Orleans on 23 Oct 1849.[4][5]
Traveled with the Wilkin Freight Train arriving in the Salt Lake Valley in 1851.
