George Fillingham was born on 24 Feb 1794, and christened on 16 Mar 1794 at the church of St Mary the Virgin in Prescot, Lancashire. He was the son of James and Margaret Fillingham. His father's occupation was recorded as husbandman, and the family's address as Eccleston.
By June 6th 1841, George was living in Catchey Moss, Eccleston; he was a tailor. His sister Esther was living with him, and he had two apprentices also in the household - George Lunt and John Parr.
By March 30th 1851, George was in Gillars Green, Eccleston; he was still a tailor. A widowed house servant named Jane Trasey was living with him.
By April 7th 1861, George was living at 9 Stock Bridge, Eccleston; he was still a tailor. His widowed sister Margaret Holding was living with him, and working as a charwoman.
