Biography
John was born about 1791 in Essex (according to 1841 census) and about 1792 according to his death registration.
He is likely the John Cooper Finch christened in 1793 to Thomas and Mary in Canewdon, St. Nicholas, Essex, about 8 miles from Thundersley. This is the closest baptism found in the time frame, the next nearest being in Maldon, about 18 miles away. No further records were found of a John Finch with the middle name Cooper. [1]
In 1841, John and Sarah were living in Thundersley, Essex with six children: John, Susan, Caroline, Maria, Eliza, and Emma. [2]
He passed away in 1844.[3]
In 1851, John's widow, Sarah, is living in Brentwood, Billericay with her son John, born ca 1821, Thundersley and his family. Her daughter "Elisa" (born ca 1832) is also with them.
John's widow, Sarah, remarried John Matthew Lock in 1852. John and Sarah's daughter Eliza Finch is with Sarah and Matthew in 1861 in Kent.
Disambiguation Not the same person as John Garrard Finch whose wife was a Sarah Ann Finch.
