Biography

Marjorie was born in 1917. She was the daughter of Rollae Finch and Effie Fairchild. She passed away in 2011.

Marjorie was born Feb. 26, 1917, in Flora, the daughter of Dr. R.D. "Rollae Dean" and Effie Fairchild Finch. She grew up in Flora.

She married James Herschel Satterlee on Oct. 11, 1936, in Flora, and they became residents of St. Elmo. "Hersh" preceded her in death May 12, 1993.

"Margy" was a member of the First United Methodist Church. She served on the St. Elmo Public Library Board for a number of years. She was self-employed as a beautician and was an accomplished artist for more than 25 years, belonging to the Illinois Arts and Crafts Artisans Program.

She moved to Peoria, Ariz., in 2004, where she enjoyed living the final seven years of her life. Margy's family and friends are blessed to have been touched by her love and generosity. Surviving are her nieces, Ellen K. Boolout and husband Frank of Peoria; Mary V. Burgess of Salem; Donna L. Davis of Springfield; Florence M. Davis of Corona, Calif.; nephew, Robert F. Davis and wife Mona; sister-in-law, Christina K. Finch; great-nieces, Anne Rickard, Susan Prince, Rachel Mariner, Janet Jackson and Grace Wasco; great-nephews, Gregory Davis, Clark Davis and Lawrence Burgess; and many close friends locally and across the country.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, William A. Finch; nephews, Charles L. Davis and Emmett E. Davis; and great-niece, Terry L. Davis.

ST. ELMO - Marjorie Elizabeth Satterlee, 94, of St. Elmo, formerly of Flora, was called home to be with the Lord on May 25, 2011, in the hospice patient care unit of Brighton Gardens, Sun City, Arizona.

Burial in May 2011 at the Maplewood Cemetery, Saint Elmo, Fayette County, Illinois.
