Ira was born in 1839. He was the son of James Finch and Lucia Johnson. He passed away in 1905.
Burial in January, 1905 at the Nichols Cemetery, Nichols, Tioga County, New York.
An early graduate of Albany Law School. He was for several years a justice of the peace. He was master of Westbrook lodge F. and A. M. of Nichols, two years in 1884 and 1885. Served as Justice of the Peace, election commissioner and on the Board of Elections.
He raised Jerseys, Alderneys and Shorthorns along with Southdown sheep and thoroughbred horses"
He was a brother of Mrs. David B. Thomas of Hooper's Valley, Hon. Parley Finch, of Humboldt Iowa and John Finch of North Orwell, Pa.
"Ira Finch, Esq, one of the prominent and influential men of the town of Windham, Pa. died Wednesday morning January 25, at his home at Windham aged 66 years.
