Charles was born in 1859 and his birth was registered in the 4th quarter 1859 in Cardiff, Glamorganshire. His mother's maiden name was Evans.[1][2]

Charles married Mary Davies (~1864 - ) and the marriage was registered in the 2nd quarter 1886 in Merthyr Tydfil, Glamorgan, Glamorganshire.[3][4]
